Exploring Glenorchy

There are plenty of places to explore in the village

While exploring the township there are plenty of opportunities to support local, as well as our heritage buildings; library, church, ruins. Click on the names of each business to find out more:

The Trading Post

Our little shop in Glenorchy is closest to Lake Wakatipu and offers some great books, souvenirs, delicious coffee from Patagonia in Queenstown, baking from Kinloch, savoury treats for lunch, and more…

Glenorchy Arts & Crafts Co-Op Shop

The newest addition to Glenorchy, found opposite the Red Wharf shed, this is a non profit shop dedicated to promoting local artists from Glenorchy! They open on a volunteer basis mostly between 11am and 3pm on weekends, sometimes longer!

Frank’s Corner

A cute shop providing unique treasures handmade in New Zealand including pottery, jewellery, wooly yarns, artwork, wool accessories, and plenty more. Find them on Mull Street near the lakefront.

For some adventure fuel check out the food at The Trading Post, the Glenorchy Hotel, Bold Peak Lodge, Mrs Woollys, or head out to Kinloch.

The nearest walk is the Glenorchy Lagoon boardwalk, and many of the tour operators start from Glenorchy.
