Glenorchy is the true capital of the great outdoors.
There are more than 19 different day walks in the area and several famous extended walks, such as the Routeburn Track and Greenstone-Caples Tracks, start nearby.
The scenery in the area is spectacular and if walking is not your thing, there are plenty of local companies who can help you experience the area in depth by taking you to some of the out of the way places. Our parent company, Kinloch Wilderness Retreat, is across the lake (26kms by road) and offers a variety of activities for a day out.
